[Doylestown, PA] - Today, Conservation Voters of PA (CVPA) endorsed Jordan Yeager for Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Bucks County. This is the first time in its 10 year history that Conservation Voters of PA has endorsed a candidate for Court of Common Pleas.
"We made this unprecedented endorsement because Jordan Yeager is one of Pennsylvania's most important environmental champions," said Josh McNeil, Executive Director of Conservation Voters of PA. "Jordan has probably done more to protect healthy air and clean water for the people of this Commonwealth than any potential judge before him."
Yeager's most prominent victory for the environment was the landmark Act 13 victory before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in December 2013, which forced our state government to respect the Commonwealth’s constitutional Environmental Rights Amendment for the first time in history. Yeager also frequently represents residents, community groups, municipalities, and non-profits in environmental litigation. He was awarded the Florence Neilson Environmental Leadership Award by the Clean Water Fund in 2013 and served as a founding Board member of the Fairshake Environmental Legal Services.
"Protecting our environment is about fairness," said Yeager. "We share a constitutional right to a healthy environment, and our courts have the power and the responsibility to ensure that right for every Pennsylvanian. I'm honored by this endorsement and appreciate the work that Conservation Voters of PA does to elect officials who put people first."
Conservation Voters of PA, which represents 6,207 members in Bucks County, works to elect pro-environment candidates to office and to pass laws that fight climate change, protect clean air and water, and preserve Pennsylvania's open space. 42 of the 56 candidates CVPA supported in the 2018 election won, marking the best election for Pennsylvania's environment in modern history. In Bucks County, CVPA made significant efforts to elect Steve Santarsiero to the State Senate and Wendy Ullman to the State House.
Yeager is seeking both the Democratic and Republican nominations to the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas in the May 21, 2019 primary election. If nominated, he will take part in the general election on November 5.
