Emily Skopov
Emily Skopov is running for State House in the 28th district in Allegheny County.
Emily is a former screenwriter and director who moved to Allegheny County to raise her family in 2010. Emily became an environmental advocate when she founded “No Crayon Left Behind,” a program that recycles crayons from restaurants and gives them to schools, homeless shelter, and children in low-income communities. Emily has pledged to support 100% renewable energy by 2050, increase public transportation in her district, and back a reasonable and fair severance tax.
Emily’s opponent is Speaker of the House, Mike Turzai. Rep. Turzai has continually blocked efforts to enact a reasonable severance tax and sidelined bills that would protect public health and ensure clean air and water. He has a dismal lifetime score of just 19%.
We know that Emily will put people before polluters if elected in November. We encourage the voters of the 28th district to support her.
