Kendra Brooks
Kendra Brooks is running for re-election for the At-Large seat on the Philadelphia City Council.
Kendra was raised in the Nicetown neighborhood of Philadelphia where she still proudly resides with her four children. Kendra started at the Community College of Philadelphia and worked her way through as a nursing assistant. She went on to receive a Bachelors of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from Temple University and an MBA in Management from Eastern University.
During her tenure as City Councilwoman, Kendra fought to protect dozens of community gardens in working-class neighborhoods from corporate takeovers. She's fought for a rapid transition to green energy that creates good-paying, union jobs. She worked to pass legislation expanding bike share services. Kendra has also fought to rid public schools of lead and asbestos that poisons children and to address the air and water pollution that plagues working-class, Black, and Brown communities.
Kendra will continue to build upon the works she's done in City Council these past four years, and we strongly urge you to reelect her on May 16.
