[Philadelphia, PA] – Today, Conservation Voters of PA endorsed State Representative Leanne Krueger-Braneky for re-election in Philadelphia’s 161st district. Conservation Voters of PA represents thousands of individuals in the Commonwealth committed to clean air, land, energy, and water, and vote for candidates who reflect those values.
“Rep. Krueger-Braneky has demonstrated time and time again that she is a true environmental champion,” said Caren Glotfelty, Board Chair of Conservation Voters of PA. “She has consistently championed clean energy, water, and air, and we encourage voters of the 161st district to send Rep. Krueger-Braneky back to Harrisburg.”
Rep. Krueger-Braneky was elected to the House in 2015, currently serves on the Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, and is a co-founder of the Climate Caucus. This past legislative session, Rep. Krueger-Braneky sponsored a House Resolution urging the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to join the United States Climate Alliance, and earned a 100% on our 2017/2018 Pennsylvania Environmental Scorecard. Prior to her election in 2015, Rep. Krueger-Braneky served as the first Executive Director of the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia.
Rep. Krueger-Braneky said of the endorsement, "Pennsylvanians have a Constitutional right to clean air and pure water, and since I was elected, I have been steadfast in protecting those rights. Whether it's the Republican majority in the House attempting to roll back regulations to 1980s levels, or a major oil company recklessly constructing a gas pipeline just feet from homes and an elementary school, I have stood up for people against the wealthy and powerful anti-environmental forces in our Commonwealth. I am proud to have earned a 100% pro-environment voting record from Conservation Voters PA, and I am proud to have them stand with me once again. Together, we will continue to deliver on that Constitutional promise for our kids and for the future of our Commonwealth."
