Jim Wertz - SD-49

Jim Wertz is running for State Senate in the 49th Senate District in Erie County.

Jim previously worked as a union broadcaster and production manager for a local Erie news station. He also works as a teacher, and in 2018, was elected as Chairman of Erie County Democratic Party.

As a State Senator, Jim will work to preserve the water quality and reduce harmful runoff pollution in Lake Erie, which has been plagued with dangerous toxic algae blooms in recent years. He will also work with labor partners to expand workforce development opportunities in clean energy jobs.

Jim is committed to protecting the environment in the 49th District and across Pennsylvania. We urge voters to send him to Harrisburg in November.
