John M. Smith
John is a union member and community activist who is running for Cumberland County Commissioner. He worked for an airline company at Harrisburg International Airport, where he used his aviation knowledge to help make Harrisburg the safest airport in the airline company’s system.
John is passionate about getting the county to meet its 2050 carbon reduction goals and is alarmed by air quality in the area while 500 trucks are idling at warehouses at any given time. He also feels very passionately about seeing Inflation Reduction Act funds invested in disadvantaged communities and wants to increase electric vehicle infrastructure as a commuter county.
John will build upon Cumberland County’s successes to make it the most environmentally friendly county in the Commonwealth. We strongly urge you to vote for him on November 7.
